South American Experience is a partner in the Know Before You Go campaign and we are working with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office to do all that we can to help British Travellers stay safe overseas. Inoculations
Typhoid, Tetanus, Hepatitis, Malaria, Yellow fever and Polio are all strongly recommended but are not compulsory unless you are planning to travel on to Brazil. Conditions change from time to time so please check with your GP. The following website has some useful information:

Documentation
British Citizens do not require visas for travel to Uruguay but a full, valid 10 year passport with at least 6 months to run is needed. Other nationals contact the Embassy / consulate: 020 7589 8735 for information.

Climate
Located entirely within the temperate zone, Uruguay has a climate that is fairly uniform. Seasonal variations are pronounced, but extremes in temperature are rare. As would be expected by its abundance of water, high humidity and fog are common and the absence of mountains, which act as weather barriers, makes all locations vulnerable to high winds. July and August tend to be the rainiest months. Most tourists visit during Uruguay's summer months (mid November to March) which is also the high season.

Consumer protection
Flights and air holidays on these pages are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority under our licence. South American Experience is ATOL6094.
