See what wonders lie hidden beneath the rainforest canopy. Experience
the buzz of excitement in Cuzco, with its local markets, handicrafts,
cobblestone streets and buildings made of Inca stonework. Hike the
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and visit the world's highest navigable
lake and its islands, Lake Titicaca. Take this opportunity to see
how the past and present come together in Peruvian daily life.

| Is it for me? This tour is an active way
to experience Peru's intriguing natural and historical wonders
while enjoying a higher level of comfort. Travel and accommodation
in the jungle is a little more rustic (due to the remoteness
of the area we visit). The Inca Trail is a moderate 4 day hike
at high altitude. Accommodation: 8 nights hotels, 2 nights jungle lodge, 3 nights camping. Accommodation standard: Comfortable hotels throughout, plus rustic jungle lodge and camping on Inca Trail Food Included: Continental breakfast daily, all meals while in the jungle and on the Inca Trail. Transportation:Private van, local flight, train, boat, canoe. Group & Staff: Max 15....G.A.P leader throughout, (except on the Inca Trail), local guides in Cuzco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, the jungle, and Lake Titicaca. Budgeting: Allow USD $200 for food not included. For additional expenses, there is also a local payment of USD $200. |

| Day 1: | Arrive Lima. On arrival in Lima, you will be transferred to your hotel. The day is free for you to spend at your leisure. Arrive at any time. |
| Days 2-3: | Amazon Rainforest. A morning flight takes us into the Amazon lowlands to the town of Puerto Maldonado. We take a motorized canoe down the Tambopata River to our rainforest home. Our lodge is located in the southeastern Peruvian Amazon. We'll explore the rainforest by foot and dugout canoe with local guides who are keen to share their knowledge of the surrounding wildlife. Excellent wildlife-spotting opportunities abound during our walks along the trails deep within the jungle with possible visits to a parrot clay lick and an oxbow lake. |
| Days 4-5: | Cuzco . Today starts with a boat trip out of the jungle and a flight over the Andes and into the heart of Inca territory - Cuzco. We'll have a guided tour of Cuzco to learn about this city's fascinating past and present. |
| Days 6-9: | Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. A morning trip to km 82 begins a once in a lifetime journey on the ancient trail of the Incas. The local porters and guides ensure that the trip is worry-free. Fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill every day of the hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the 'Sun Gate', to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andean mountain peaks. In the afternoon the group returns by train to Cuzco. Note: Group members who do not wish to hike the Inca Trail can travel to Machu Picchu by alternative means. Please contact us for details. |
| Day 10: | Cuzco. Today there is free time for you to shop for souvenirs and visit museums and churches built on Inca ruins. You are free to experience the sights and sounds of this great colonial town. Alternatively you can spend the day moutain biking or rafting (at an extra cost). |
| Days 11-12: | Puno / Lake Titicaca. Enjoy spectacular views of the countryside on this full day of travel from Cuzco to Puno, through the high Altiplano. The next morning we head out by boat across Lake Titicaca for a visit to the floating reed islands of Uros. We stop at various islands to enjoy the lake's scenic splendour and to meet the friendly people of these communities. |
| Day 13 | Lima. A short drive to Juliaca, for our flight to Lima and the final stop on our journey. Here we can enjoy one last night out on the town. |
| Day 14 | Depart Lima. |
