Summary
Altitude:Please note - the areas visited are at high altitude, so give yourself time to acclimatise on arrival before embarking on any physical activity.
Accommodation: Simple hotels - 9 nights (some nights may be multi-share), on bus and train - 1 night
Meals Included: Meals while visiting Salar de Uyuni
Transportation:local flight, public bus and train, 4W drive.
Group size: Max 15 plus G.A.P leader from Sucre onwards.
Budgeting: Allow USD $150 for meals not included. For additional expenses, there is also a local payment of USD $200.

 

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive La Paz: Free rest of day.
Day 2-3: Sucre: Transfer to airport with a local representative for a flight to Sucre to meet your G.A.P Adventures Tour Leader. Sucre is a fascinating, historic town with plenty of opportunity to explore a variety of museums and colonial buildings. Options include a short trip to the site of 60 million year-old dinosaur tracks!
Day 4: Potosi: The highest city of its size in the world, UNESCO World Heritage Potosm has had a tumultuous history as a silver mining centre during colonial times. Take an option to descend into a working mine for a close-up look at methods basically unchanged in decades, if not centuries.
Days 5-8: Uyuni Salt Flats Excursion: Embark on a journey through the impressive Salar de Uyuni in some of the most isolated and dramatic geography in South America. Spend three days exploring the remote flats by four-wheel-drive vehicles, between piercing blue skies and blinding white salt flats.
Day 9: Night Bus / Train to La Paz Return to Uyuni and take a bus/train trip that brings us back to La Paz. Arrive by daybreak, in time to see the sun rise over the glistening peaks of the Cordillera Real.
Day 10: La Paz Relax and take some free time to explore the highest capital city in the world. Highlights include museums and local markets or visits to the Tiahuanaco ruins, the Valley of the Moon, or Chacaltaya, the highest ski resort in the world.
Day 11 La Paz. Depart La Paz - tour ends here.
