Tour: The Mayan Trail
Our two week itinerary starts in Mexico City and ends on the coast on the Riviera Maya. It provides a great
introduction to some of the pre-Colombian civilisations, the Aztecs, Totlecs, Zapotecs and of course, the Maya.
Our tour of Mexico City includes the important Anthropology museum and excursion to the Aztec site of
Teotihuacan. From Mexico City you fly to the wonderful colonial city of Oaxaca with excursions to the archeological
sites at Monte Alban and Mitla.
Then travel to Palenque to see the important ruins there, attractively set in
pristine jungle. From here you will fly to Merida, with visits to both Uxmal and
Chichen Itza before ending the itinerary with four nights relaxation on the beach at the luxury La Maroma hotel
on the Riviera Maya.

| Days 1-3: | On day one arrive in Mexico City, (your return flight from the UK is included). Transfer to the luxury all-suites Casa Vieja Hotel, a baroque colonial masterpiece. Three nights here with city tour, Anthropology Museum and excursions to Guadalupe and Teotihuacan included. |
| Days 4-6: | Fly to Oaxaca; three nights accommodation at the Camino Real, built in 1576 as the Santa Catalina Convent it has been converted into a delightful and atmospheric hotel. Excursions to Monte Alban and Mitla included. |
| Days 7-8: | Fly to Villahermosa and transfer to Palenque. 2 nights accommodation and guided tour of the site are included. |
| Days 9-10: | Return to Villahermosa and fly to Merida. Arrival transfer to the Hacienda Santa Rosa. 2 nights accommodation with city tour and excursion to the pyramids at Uxmal. |
| Days 11-14: | A guided tour of Chichen Itza and then on to the luxury hotel La Maroma on the Riviera Maya. 4 nights accommodation in a premium room on the beach. |
| Day 15: | Departure transfer to Cancun airport for flight to the UK. |
