Tour: The South American Experience
This superb coast to coast tour from Peru to Brazil encompasses some of the highlights
of South America: Cuzco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and La Paz before continuing to
Buenos Aires, the Iguassu Falls and Rio de Janeiro.
The itinerary starts in Lima and we include a city and museum tour before flying across to Cuzco, which was capital of the Inca Empire. We arrange 3 nights accommodation here with an oxygenated room at the lovely Monsaterio
hotel to help you with the altitude. The city tour includes some local Inca ruins and the
impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman. We also include a tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas
with Pisac market and Ollantaytambo.
From Cuzco, we travel on the superb Hiram Bingham train service to Machu Picchu. A tour of the citadel is included and accommodation at the Sanctuary Lodge next to the site. The following morning is free before returning to Cuzco. From
here, we travel up to Lake Titicaca with excursions on the lake to visit some of the islands. From
Puno we cross over to Bolivia and travel by hydrofoil or catamaran to the Isla del Sol for a night
before continuing on to La Paz, the highest capital in the world.
From Bolivia we fly down to Buenos Aires and during our three nights here take in a city tour and a tango show. We then fly
up to the Iguassu Falls. The itinerary ends with four days at the Copacabana Palace in Rio de
Janeiro where we arrange excursions to Corcovado and Sugarloaf mountains.

| Days 1-2: | Exploring Lima, city tour and museums included. 2 nights accommodation at either the Miraflores Park Plaza or at the Country Club. |
| Days 3-5: | Cuzco, with city tour and excursion to local ruins. 3 nights in a deluxe oxygenated room at the Monasterio. |
| Days 6-7: | Travel on the Hiram Bingham train service to Machu Picchu. Tour of the site and overnight at the Sanctuary Lodge, next to the citadel before returning to Cuzco. |
| Days 8-9: | Train to Lake Titicaca: famously enjoyable journey. Stay at the Libertador Esteves hotel, overlooking the lake. Excursions included. |
| Day 10: | Travel by catamaran or hydrofoil to Isla del Sol, tour of the island included. |
| Days 11-12: | Continue across to La Paz, accommodation at either the Radisson or the Europa. Half day city tour included. |
| Days 13-15: | Buenos Aires, one of Latin America's most elegant cities. City tour and Tango Show included. 3 nights accommodation at the Alvear Palace. |
| Days 16-17: | Iguassu Falls - explore both sides of the falls including the Devil's Throat. 2 nights in a de luxe room at the Das Cataratas hotel. |
| Day 18-21: | Fly to Rio de Janeiro; 4 nights in Ocean Front suite at the Copacabana Palace. Excursions to Sugarloaf and Corcovado Mountains included. |
