The Sacred Valley

Hiking in The Sacred Valley of Urumbamba

This is a pleasant and not too strenuous hike in the highlands of Cuzco; a two day journey along winding river-side roads, beneath massive limestone cliffs and through peaceful forest. You will pass Indian villages made of stone and clay, dotted around the Andean fields and terraces, and inca shrines. There is also a chance to see the famous inca salt mines of Maras, where local people are still using traditional methods.
