Andean Explorer Train journey

This is a fantastic train journey from Cuzco to Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, uniting two of Peru's top tourist destinations.
Exquisitely decorated in the manner of the great Pullman trains of the 1920's, the "Andean Explorer Train" boasts a full fleet of refurbished coaches and is owned by Orient Express.

On leaving Cuzco the train makes a gentle climb into the Andean mountains, past the Huatanay River to cooler altitudes. The scenery then changes from mountains to rolling plains, where vicuña and alpaca can be seen. The journey is broken by a scenic stop at La Raya, which is also the highest point on the route.

An open-air Observation Bar Car adds to the enjoyment along this beautiful route and provides great opportunities for the photographer. On the ten hour journey passengers are served a three course lunch in their dining car as well as afternoon tea. You can also take the train in the opposite direction, from Puno to Cuzco.

The service runs on the following days:
Nov to March:  Mon, Wed and Sat.
April to Oct:    Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat.
