Honduras is one of the least-explored countries in Central America, and yet boasts some of the most spectacular natural and cultural attractions of the region. Visit colonial mining towns, national parks with impressive biodiversity, Mayan ruins at Copán and the recently discovered El Puente, miles of white-sand beaches and arguably some of the best dive-sites in Latin America.

Documentation
British Citizens do not require visas for Honduras but should check that they have a full, valid 10 year passport with at least 6 months to run. Nationals of other countries should check with the Honduran Consulate:  020 7486 4880.

Inoculations
There are no compulsory requirements although vaccination against Typhoid, Tetanus, Hepatitis and Polio are all strongly recommended as well as anti-malaria tablets. The following website has some useful information:

Climate
The climate is subtropical in the lowlands, ie. hot and humid. The mountains and highland areas are temperate and very pleasant. It can be wet on the Caribbean coast from September to February.
