Colonial Antigua, Lake Atitlan and the traditional markets of Chichicastenago or Solola are a must while Tikal has probably the best setting of all the Mayan ruins.

Documentation
British Citizens do not require visas for Guatemala but should check that they have a full, valid 10 year passport with at least 6 months to run. Nationals of other countries should check with the Guatemalan Embassy:  020 7351 3042.

Inoculations
There are no compulsory requirements although vaccination against Typhoid, Tetanus, Hepatitis and Polio are all strongly recommended as well as anti-malaria tablets. The following website has some useful information:
