Copan (Honduras)
Copan, surrounded by hills, is one of the most important of all the Mayan sites due to the
impressive carvings and hieroglyphs which have survived, displaying the high level of artistic craftsmanship
prevelant in its heyday.
Its temples, tombs and a complete Mayan ball court make Copan a fascinating place to visit
and its proximity to the border makes a short visit there possible from Guatemala.
The nearby museum is interesting and brings Copan to life.
1 night / 2 day tour of Copan:
| Day 1: | Transfer from Guatemala City to the archaelogical site of Copan (Honduras) via the Atlantic Highway. Upon arrival visit the ruins, enjoying the beautiful stelae, altars, steps and zoomorphs. Afternoon transfer to hotel. |
