King Penguins

The Falkland Islands

One of the last outposts of the remains of the British Empire, these anachronistic islands are said to be the only place on Earth where man and penguin live in harmony. The Falkland Islanders are hospitable by nature and their lands provide the breeding grounds for some 70 different animal species including the black-browed albatross, elephant seals, sea-lions and five species of penguin.

There are flights twice a week from RAF Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, to Mount Pleasant and there are now also weekly flights with Lan Chile via Santiago, making the Falklands more accessible than ever before.
