Tour: Highlights of Cuba

This two week tour combines the main attractions of Cuba. Starting with a few days in Havana the tour continues to Viñales before returning to Havana and down to Cienfuegos. The tour ends at Remedios, a lovely colonial town off the beaten track. An hour from here are some fantastic, little visited beaches and the stunning cayes off the northern coast.

Cienfuegos was founded by French colonists from Bordeaux, it is well laid out and still exudes a distinctly Gallic influence in much of its architecture. The Jagua castle and old cementary are interesting whilst the 36km reef has a number of tunnels and caves as well as sunken ships, providing an excellent habitat for marine life. Our preferred hotel here is the Hotel La Union. This beautifully restored bouitique hotel is right in the centre of Cienfuegos, ideal for those who wish to explore the old quarter of the city.

Remedios was founded by the Spanish in 1578 and is an immensely charming place, sometimes described as a forgotten jewel on Cuba's northern coast. Our tour includes 4 nights accommodation at the Hotel Mascotte, a converted colonial mansion in the main square. It is full of charm with just 10 rooms with balconies overlooking the square.
