Cuba flag Cuba is an irresistible cocktail of colonial cities, wonderful beaches, beautiful scenery and music stirred with a dash of rum. Money
Cuba has announced a 10% tax on all conversions between the US dollar and Cuba's "convertible" peso, to take effect from the November 2004. Dollars are no longer accepted in shops or hotels. Because of this we are recommend passengers take cash and traveller's cheques in sterling or euros.

Inoculations
Nothing is compulsory but we recommend that you are covered for typhoid and hepatitis and you should be up-to-date with tetanus and polio. Please check with your GP. The following website has some useful information:

Tourist Card
Currently all nationals need a tourist card to enter Cuba unless you are Cuban or were born in Cuba.   The tourist cards must be issued prior to departure.  We can issue tourist cards for British or European Nationals to enter Cuba. These cost £25 each (please allow 48 hours).

NB. An official hotel must be stated on the tourist card - private addresses will not do.

Consumer protection

Weather
The dry season runs from mid-November to May. The most likely months for hurricanes in the Caribbean are September and October.
