Canales Australis

Cape Horn and the Magellan Straits aboard the Mare Australis

Explore the untouched and southernmost region of the world, Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego, aboard the Mare Australis Expedition cruise or her sister ship, the Via Australis. Follow in the shadows of the great explorers Hernando de Magellanes and Sir Francis Drake on their voyages of discovery.

The Mare Australis and the Via Australis sail through the Strait of Magellan, along the Beagle Channel and down to Cape Horn where the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans meet at Drake's Passage.

During the cruise there will be daily landings, following trails through forests, visits to glaciers, wildlife excursions to see colonies of elephant seals, Megellan Penguins and cormorants, the Darwin Mountain Range and Cape Horn National Park.

The cruise takes you from Punta Arenas, in Chile, to Ushuaia, in Argentina, or you can take the cruise in the opposite direction, Ushuaia to Punta Arenas. Both trips are available as either 4 night or 3 night cruises.
