Tour: Patagonia and Cape Horn
Take a journey from Argentina to Chile via Patagonia and Cape Horn. Your tour starts in Buenos Aires where you will be
taken on a city tour and to a tango show before you fly to El Calafate, the base from which to visit Perito
Moreno glacier. From here you will fly to Tierra del Fuego, the island right at the foot of the southernmost tip
of South America, its eastern side shared by both Argentina and Chile. It is a region of dramatic mountain
scenery, sparkling lakes and largely undeveloped, wild forests, a most spectacular and extreme destination.
The most advantageous way to explore the region is by cruise ship. From Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the
world, pick up the Australis cruise boat for the fantastic journey round Cape Horn to Punta Arenas in Chile. Travel
via the Magellan Straits and the Beagle Channel, named
after the boat which entered the passage on 19 Dec 1826 with Charles Darwin on board. The ship operates
from October to April and the expedition itinerary includes all meals, excursions and activities.
The cruise is a magnificent wildlife and ice spectacular with huge penguin colonies and impressive glaciers on show.
End your tour by flying to Santiago. A city tour of the capital is included,
together with a winetasting excursion in one of the vineyards.
