This exciting journey across Patagonia is run by the prestigious Explora group and offers the chance to travel from Chile to Argentina, or vice versa. Journey to the region that streches from the Strait of Magellan to the Southern Ice Field, an ice zone shared by Chile and Argentina from whose frozen caps glaciers such as the famous Perito Moreno descend.
In Chile, the trip is centred in the Torres del Paine National Park, using the Hotel Explora en Patagonia. In Argentina your base is the village of El Chaltén, nestling below the spectacular peaks of Torre and Fitz Roy, within the Los Glaciares National Park. Here accommodation will be at one of the two best available lodges. Both locations offer trekking to the bases of incredible summits, through valleys and past glaciers that offer travellers access to exceptionally magnificent natural landscapes.
Crossing between the two locations, El Chaltén to Torres del Paine or vice versa, is an impressive experience. Guests travel along the Argentino and Viedma lakes, the River Santa Cruz and the River La Leona. A visit to the Glacier Perito Moreno is optional, which adds 3 hours to the journey.
