Santiago
Whilst in Santiago you could combine a visit to the Pablo Neruda Museum with a wine-tasting trip to the vineyards or go down to the beach resort of Vina del Mar by scenic railway or even spend an afternoon at the city's famous race course. There is also skiing in the Andean resorts, available as a day trip from Santiago, from June to October.
