Lauca National Park
Passing through the fertile Lluta valley rise to the giddy heights of 4,500 m to the highest lake in the
world, Lago Chungara.
Perched on the Bolivian border this remote lake is framed by a chain of snow-capped volcanoes
and frequently by abundant wild fowl including flamingos.
The 17th century villages high on the altiplano seem a world apart from the nearby port of Arica.
