Moai on Easter Island

Easter Island

Six hours by plane from mainland Chile this is a most extraordinary place, famous for its statues (Moai), making the island an open air museum.

There are a thousand or so Moai scattered about the island, which is about the same size as the Isle of Wight. Superb for a 4/5 day visit from Santiago or on a stopover on the way to/from Australasia.

We can arrange trips for stays of 3, 4 or 5 nights with excursions to the main places of interest including the temple ruins at Vinapu, the important ceremonial sites and to the Raro Raraku volcano where almost all the Moai were carved. Depending on the weather you can picnic on Anakena beach where Captain Cook landed in 1774. The packages below do not include the flight from mainland Chile, approximately $618 US dollars return.
The new hotel "Explora Easter Island" built by the prestigious Chilean Explora group is due to open in early 2008. Please contact us for rates.
