Brazil Tall Ship Sailing Adventure

A fantastic week-long journey sailing along the most exotic landscapes of the Brazilian coastline on board the schooner Tocorimi. This is a fixed departure group tour with group leader. Pass mountains dipping into the sea, isolated beaches, pristine and untouched rainforest and inviting blue-green waters. Start your adventure in Rio de Janeiro and finish in the historic port of Paraty, a charming, colonial 17th century village with cobbled streets and fresh sea food. Get involved - navigate, climb the mast or dive to inspect the hull, or just sit back and relax, and let the world sail by. This is a highly original trip that will show you the real Brazil.

Summary
Accommodation and Meals:: 6 nights on board the schooner Tocorime, single and double berths (possibility of multi-share). All meals are included whilst on board.
Transportation: 120 foot Brazilian Tall Ship and inflatable shore boat.
Meals:: All meals while on board the ship are included.
Group size:: Max. 16
Group Leader:: Captain/guide, first mate, engineer, deck hands, cook.
Budgeting:: Allow USD $100 for extras not included, (eg. alcoholic beverages.) For additional extras please ask to see the dossier. Also note that international flights to Brazil are not included in the tour.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Rio de Janeiro Board the Tocorimi around noon, and familiarize yourself with the ship before dinner onboard and a free evening in Rio.
Day 2: Set sail from Rio Embark on your adventure with a scenic 12 hour sail along the Brazilian coast with unbeatable views of Rio's famous horizon. Onboard duties will be set out for everyone who wishes to help out.
Day 3: Ilha Grande, Enseada das Palmas At dawn we anchor at beautiful Ilha Grande. Explore Enseada das Palmas for the day and watch the sunset at the stunning Lopes Mendes beach. Conclude a fun-filled day with dinner and drinks on the beach.
Day 4: Lagoa Azul, Saco do Ceu Set sail today for Lagoa Azul (Blue Lagoon), Smtio Forte and Saco do Ciu, with the possibility of a small hiking adventure through landscapes of beautiful deserted beaches. In the evening phosphorescent sea plankton give us a fantastic fluorescent show. Anchor at Saco do Ciu.
Day 5: Mamangua Ecological Reserve Depart early for Mamangua Ecological Reserve. Relax or partake in your choice of activities, including hiking, snorkelling and kayaking. After lunch enjoy a rainforest hike or waterfall expedition before nighttime festivities on the beach. Anchor at Mamangua.
Day 6: Ilha da Beixiga, arrive Paraty Sail today to the pristine waters and islands of the Paratimirim peninsula, then off to visit stunning Ilha da Beixiga, a private island which only we have permission to visit. From here we explore the historic port town of Paraty, a quintessential Brazilian colonial town famous for fantastic seafood, the Brazilian drink Cachaga, and the rhythms of Bossa Nova.
Day 7: Paraty, disembark Explore the 16th century fort on the island and enjoy this tropical paradise for our final morning. Disembark the Tocorimi around noon. Bom viagem!
