Rio Carnival 2008
Take the opportunity to experience one of the world's greatest parties when Brazil comes to a virtual standstill in an explosion of music, outrageous costumes, dancing and singing. Carnival lasts for 4 days and is possibly the most colourful and lively event you will ever witness. The selected Samba schools spend all year preparing their floats and costumes and can be seen from a raised seat during the parade through the Sambadrome.
South American Experience have put some packages together to suit everyone, from a mid-range hotel option through to deluxe comfort in Rio's top hotel, all of which can be tailored to your requirements. We will be happy to book your flights and add any pre or post Carnival travel arrangements to your holiday.

| Fri. 01 Feb: | Arrival in Rio de Janeiro, welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel. . |
| Sat. 02 Feb: | Full day excursion to visit Rio's two most famous landmarks - Sugarloaf Mountain and the statue of Christ on Corcovado. Lunch is included in a typical Brazilian restaurant. This tour is on a small group basis. |
| Sun. 03 Feb: | Morning and afternoon at leisure. In the evening you will be collected from your hotel and transfered to the Sambadrome to enjoy the spectacle of the world's most famous Carnival as the top Samba schools parade through the purpose built arena. The parades start around 8.00pm and finish in the small hours. Your ticket access is based on Sector 9 of the Grandstand for an excellent view of the procession below. If you opt for the Deluxe Hotel option below (the Hotel Copacabana Palace) your seating is in a different zone, located nearer the front for a privileged view. |
| Mon. 04 Feb: | Half day schooner cruise around Guanabara Bay - transfer to the marina (in the Gloria district) and begin your cruise along the coast line past Flamengo Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain and the fortresses to Niteroi. |

| Wed. 06 Feb: | Transfer to the airport in time for your onward flight to another location or departure flight to the UK. |
