Tour: Highlights of Belize
Our 2 week introduction to Belize is designed to show you the amazing variety of wildlife, culture and landscapes that
this country has to offer.
We include three nights at the little known area around Punta Gorda, Toledo, where we recommend
staying at The Lodge at Big Falls. Located on the banks of the Rio Grande river, it is surrounded by pristine
jungle with excellent birdwatching and wildlife spotting opportunities. A canoe ride along the Rio Grande is a
must and there are some excellent trails to follow. Just a mile from Punta Gorda are the ruins of Lubaantun
which provide a good introduction to the Mayas for a first-time visitor.
Move on to the Blancaneaux Lodge set in the Mountain Pine Ridge, a rolling landscape of lush hardwood forest and
pine trees dotted with rivers, waterfalls and caves. Owned by
film director Francis Ford Coppola, it was once his family retreat and the ceiling fans in the bar are from
the set of the film "Apocalpyse Now". A riverside spa offers a massive hot pool and traditional Thai massage.
End the tour with 6 days snorkelling or diving on the coral reef, or relaxing on the beach at Victoria House
Hotel on Ambergris Caye.

| Days 1-3: | On day one arrive in Belize City (your return flight from the UK is included). Transfer to the domestic airstrip for the flight to Punta Gorda. 3 nights accommodation at the charming Lodge at Big Falls. Excursion to Lubaantun, a Mayan site on the banks of the New River, is included. |
| Days 4-6: | Transfer to the Mountain Pine Ridge for a three night stay at the Blancanaeux Lodge. |
| Days 7-13: | Transfer to Belize City for a flight to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye. Stay for 6 nights at the Victoria House. |
| Day 14: | Return to Belize City in time for your flight home. |
