Valdes Peninsula
This region is a veritable wildlife haven and one of the best places to see whales (June to November), sea elephants, sea lions, penguins, cormorants, petrels and many other bird species. Go any time of year and you will always be rewarded with an array of marine mammals and birds, though the penguin rookery at Punta Tombo Nature Reserve is best visited from September through to February. It is the largest breeding ground for Magallenic penguins in South America, whilst Punta Delgada is where the elephant seals and sea lions can be seen from cliffs, scattered across the beach below.

| Day 1: | Early morning reception at Trelew airport. (Either fly in the night before or get the early morning Buenos Aires - Trelew flight departing 05.40). Departure to Punta Tombo Rookery to admire the magnificent colony of millions of Magellan Penguins. Back to Puerto Madryn to overnight at the Hotel Peninsula. |
| Day 2: | Full day tour to Peninsula Valdes, passing the Ameghino Isthmus. Visit to the sea lion colony at Puerto Piramides; from June to November there is also a fantastic optional whale watching boat tour. Continue to Punta Delgada. Accommodation at the Punta Delgada Lighthouse Hotel. Afternoon at leisure for walking along the beach and dunes. From the top of the cliff you can see an impressive colony of sealions, sea elephants and various sea bird species. A wonderful spot. |
| Day 3: | After a morning at leisure at Punta Delgada, continue to Caleta Valdes to visit the Wild Life Reserve. Return to Puerto Madryn, passing by Salina Grande and Salina Chica salt pits. Accommodation at the Hotel Peninsula. |
| Day 4: | After breakfast transfer to Trelew Airport for onward journey. |
