The Tango Experience

There are not many dances that have been banned by the Pope but the history of Argentina reflects the twists, turns and extraordinary steps of the dance itself. From its origins in the brothels of Buenos Aires in the 19th Century, the Tango soon transfixed all levels of society, taking Europe by storm between the Wars. Hollywood got in on the act in the 30's and 40's but by the 1950's its popularity had faded.

The Tango is currently undergoing a revival and you can learn all about the Tango in the place where the dance was born. The itinerary includes tango shows, tango lessons led by professionals and visits to the sites where the dance originated in the brothels and slums of La Boca and to the ballrooms where it was first introduced to high society.
