Perito Moreno Glacier

Patagonia

The Patagonia region, located in the southern tip of South America, straddles both Argentina and Chile. Since it was discovered, the mention of its name conjours up images of a distant, uncharted territory, with a primitive force in its stunning landscapes.

Within Argentina, the far south offers spectacular scenery in the Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (Glaciers National Park) - an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1981, and a land of pristine glaciers descending into turquoise lakes and colossal mountain ranges crowned in snow.

There are two accessible areas in the Glaciers National Park: first travel to the south, accessed from the town of El Calafate on the shores of Lago Argentino, and then from here you can travel north by road to the region around El Chalten.
We offer both options as short itineraries - fly into El Calafate and visit the stunning and mighty Upsala and Onelli glaciers by catarmaran and at the Perito Moreno glacier, stand, listen and watch in awe.
Then extend your trip on to El Chalten, which stands at the foot of the jagged peaks of the spectacular Fitz Roy massif. It is the base for some of Argentina's most rewarding trekking, amongst the peaks of Mounts Torre and Fitz Roy.

Extension to El Chalten:

Aptly named the "capital of trekking" in Argentina, El Chalten offers incredible hiking opportunities for all fitness levels to admire the peaks of Mount Torre and Fitz Roy as well as excursions to nearby lakes and glaciers. This small town, 4 hours by road from El Calafate, nestles in a valley surrounded by mountains and has a remote, "end of the world" feel about it.

Hosteria El Puma includes breakfast, whilst Los Cerros provides full board. Both hotels provide return transfers from El Calafate plus tours mentioned.
