Antarctica Information

The spectacular ice wilderness of Antarctica, just 600 miles south of Tierra del Fuego, is surely the ultimate destination for wildlife enthusiasts and those who are captivated by the history of the great explorers. Huge colonies of penguins, seals and birdlife (potentially also Minke and humpback whales) are to be found amongst the icebergs and dramatic glaciers, Some of the itineraries encompass the Antarctic Peninsula as well as the South Shetland Islands, Falklands and South Georgia.

Getting There
Journeys start and end in Ushuaia which is a four hour flight from Buenos Aires. Most of our clients like to break the journey in Buenos Aires for a few days.

Buenos Aires Stopover
Buenos Aires is known as the Paris of Latin America but it is a cosmopolitan city which also boasts Italian and British influences. The centre has some very impressive buildings, pleasant cafés, interesting markets and galleries; the local neighbourhoods of San Telmo and La Recoleta provide a quieter side to this enormous city. We have around 30 hotels in Buenos Aires on our lists so if you need to be in a particular area of the city please contact us. All prices are per person and based two people sharing a double room in low season.

Ushuaia Stopover
Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world, on the shores of the Beagle Channel and surrounded by the Martial Mounts. It is the capital of the Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and Southern Atlantic Islands Province, and its superlative location allows you to enjoy sea, mountains and forests at the same time.

Documentation
British citizens do not require visas for Argentina nor Antarctica but a full 10 year passport with at least 6 months to run is needed.
